Tips to Get Rid of  Snails and Slugs in your Garden

Slugs and snails feed on living & decomposing plant material, but they prefer young, tender plant growth like newly sprouted seedlings & soft growth

Identify their presence

Look out for slugs regularly, especially if they have been a problem in the past.

Pick them off by hand

Every time you see a slug or snail, pick it off by hand and dispose it of by tossing it into a bucket of soapy water.

Set a Trap

Set up simple slug and snail traps throughout the garden to nab a lot of these trespassers at one time and make them easier to dispose of.

Create unfavourable habitat

To make the habitat less hospitable, practice good housekeeping by removing plant debris and dead leaves from the garden

Put up a barrier

Dry diatomaceous earth, sprinkled in a continuous band around the perimeter of the garden,  acts as an effective barrier

Grow trap crops

Use plants that slugs and snails love, such as marigolds, as traps by planting them along the edges of your garden.
