Apiary honey must be extracted properly to retain its quality. The extraction process should be hygienic and prevent any extraneous material in honey.

1. To remove honey combs, smoke colonies, and brush off bees from the honey combs using a soft bee brush or bunch of soft green grass

2. The honey extraction room should be bee tight. The honey frames can be uncapped with an uncapping knife by heating in boiling water

3. Place uncapped frames in the honey extractor and run at 150 rpm for 1 to 2 minutes. Reverse the frames and repeat the extraction process

4. Since freshly extracted honey is warm and easy to strain, honey is strained

5. The strained honey packing should be promptly made to prevent subsequent heating
