Easy steps to prepare rose gulkand

The rose gulkand allows the natural essence of roses to infuse into the sugar creating a fragrant and delicious preserve

Step 1:  Selecting the fresh and fragrant rose petals, which are pesticide and chemical free

Steps involved in the preparation of Rose gulkand

Step 2: Wash the rose petals thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or impurities Step 3: Layering the rose petals with sugar in dry container or jar

Step 4: If desired, sprinkle a pinch of cardamom powder over each layer for added flavor Step 5: Continue alternating layers of rose petals and sugar until the jar is filled. Ensure the topmost layer is sugar

Step 6: Once all the petals and sugar are layered, seal the jar tightly with a lid. Step 7 : Place the sealed jar in direct sunlight for about 6-8 hours every day. This helps the rose petals release their juices and infuse with the sugar

Step 8: Mix the petals and sugar daily, for about 20-25 days or until the sugar liquefies and turns into a syrup
