National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM)

Launched in 2020, is a Central Sector Scheme under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

Scheme Overview

with an allocated fund of Rs. 500 crores for the period 2020-21 to 2022-23.

Aim: NBHM aims for 'Sweet Revolution': promoting scientific beekeeping in India.


objectives: holistic industry growth, livelihood support, tech dissemination in beekeeping.

Empowerment of Women: It providing them with opportunities for economic independence and skill development.

Integrated Beekeeping Development Centre: It offer comprehensive support and guidance to beekeepers.

Centers of Excellence: It promote research, innovation, and knowledge-sharing in beekeeping.

Infrastructure Development: The mission establishes testing labs, custom hiring centers, api-therapy, nucleus stock, and bee breeders for support.

Financial Outlay: Rs. 500 crores allocated for NBHM from 2020-21 to 2022-23.


NBHM promotes income generation, livelihood support, agricultural enhancement, skill development, and women's empowerment through beekeeping.
